So, my brother (

) and I decided to work on a comic together. It will probably be made in Photoshop and it'll probably be a webcomic too, but if it turns out good then I'm going to try to print some as well. Basically, it's about a hellhound and a demon hunter who form an odd friendship after the hellhound agrees to help the demon hunter find his fiancee in the afterlife. I started it by telling my brother that I wanted to make him a character in a novel. As we fleshed out his character, I brought up the idea of a comic/webcomic and we both wanted to work on the drawing, the story arcs, and the characters. I've done most of the work so far by fleshing out the characters and writing a storyboard/script to start the comic off with. We haven't done any drawing yet but I plan to soon. We've been working on the story, plot and characters for now. Yesterday, I spent all day writing out the "script/storyboard" and writing characters and their biographies and stuff. I was going to start some practice drawing today but I haven't had time and I have plans with a friend (Jena) around two, so seeing as it's after 1:30, I don't have much time. I would try tomorrow, but I'm hanging out with a different friend (Nikki). Saturday I'm free (as far as I know) so I'll try then, because Sunday I'm hanging out with Tyler, to celebrate his birthday and watch "The Walking Dead".
I originally got the idea for this story because I keep writing fanfiction for "The Walking Dead". I decided to approach my brother about making him a character, but then we agreed that the character would be better for a hell-heaven-earth based comic (not so religious, but with minor religious aspects, seeing as there's God, angels, Satan and demons) without him ever knowing about my fanfictions for "The Walking Dead". It's kind of fantasy, too, and mythological in a sense, because it deals with supernatural/paranormal/mythical creatures in modern-day. There are humans, angels, demons, hellhounds, satyrs, imps, horses, ghosts, dragons, butterflies -- basically random things from "fiction" and modern day. I'm trying to do a lot of research on the "races" I use because I'm not a religious person and I never have been. I'm more spiritual, but I still don't do religion. I grew up in a non-religious household and so I'm going to do my research before I put things in.
The name "The Painkiller Series" comes from the fact that when I asked my brother about demon hunters, he said that they're sometimes referred to as "painkillers". I googled "demon hunters" and some things like this have come up. The demon hunter in question is named Dominic Blaine and he's my brother's author avatar in a sense. The hellhound, Salem, is my own author avatar in a sense. Things may not make sense now, but they will when everything's made. It probably makes the most sense to me because I've written everything out and it's all in my head.
I was inspired by comics/webcomics/graphic novels "The Blackblood Alliance" and "Strays". If you've read either of these then you know that they're amazing (or at least in my opinion, they are). You can read BBA at
